Shopping Center Commercial Painting Case Study

Project Overview

In August 2023, CertaPro Painters® of South Charlotte undertook the complete repaint of the Independence Shopping Center located in Charlotte, NC. The project spanned three weeks and involved navigating through unique challenges.

Initial Condition

Before the project commenced, an in-depth evaluation of the shopping center’s surfaces was conducted. While the majority were in good condition, we identified a few areas that required small repairs and caulking before painting began.

Scope of Work

This project was a complete repaint of the Independence Shopping Center. Given the high-traffic nature of the shopping center, quality and durability were of utmost importance. We sourced premium paint and materials to ensure longevity and aesthetic appeal, transforming the center into a vibrant and inviting space.

Challenges

Navigating an active shopping center presented unique challenges. The project required us to devise a strategic workflow to minimize disruption to both pedestrians and vehicles. Scheduling was done in a way to lessen any inconvenience for the shoppers and businesses.

Equipment and Techniques

In order to complete the project efficiently and safely, special equipment was deployed:

• A 60-foot articulating boom lift was used for high-reach areas, providing flexibility and accuracy in the painting process.
• Two 20-foot scissor lifts were also used to navigate the shopping center’s varying elevations.

Duration
