Scottsdale Best Home Paint Trends of 2020

Posted on May 23, 2024

We’re all headed outdoors for some fresh air this spring. Have you noticed your home is looking less than pristine? Even the best quality paints will only hold up to the harsh rays of the sun in our area for a decade or so. Eventually, you’re going to have to paint, so why not now? To get you started, our color consultants have put together a list of Scottsdale paint trends for 2020.

Fresh Shades

A popular movement for this year is a turn to easy shades that give homes a clean look. Think of “barely there” blue, from powder to Capri. These shades add a feeling of romance and serenity to your house.

Also growing in popularity are sage and yellow-green variations. Most of the hues in our area are incorporating brown or orange undertones to pair with our natural landscape. Native colors and earthy tones will blend your home into the property, making it look one with the land.

Vibrant Tones

For a hipper look, use a more vibrant color that has contrast. Make a statement with lively shades of browns and greens. The colors still pull from natural looks but in a much brighter way. These colors, when paired with creamy white will invigorate your house while allowing it to stand out against the landscape.

Clean Colors

Clean colors have worked well on homes since Post-WWII suburbia cropped up. The colors were paired with rich colors of trim to show promise and hope for the future. That mentality makes a return to this uplifting thought process, especially when choosing colors. Whites and creams paired with cyan, burgundy, forest, or butter. It’s a simple color pairing that works well with nearly any style of home.

Southwestern

Pulling from desert landscapes of beige and blue is an easy way to update your home colors. The colors together create a warm and welcoming environment to come home to. Draw from sun-soaked colors like tan, burlap and topaz, and sapphire.

Interiors

Interior colors offer so many options for 2020 from glowing to glacial. You should decide where you want to lean with the interior of your home. From there, you’ll be able to narrow the field.

When you bring warm earth tones inside from nature, your house will feel inviting and comfortable. The interior will blend naturally with the exterior. Beyond brown, think of colors like green, plum, and light blues.

With the heat outside our homes, maybe you’d like to turn your interior into an ice palace worthy of Elsa. Use winter blues, cooling silvers, and snowy whites to balance the mercury outside. Your home will feel relaxing and cool, even with the heat of summer.

For an option that’s equal parts trendy and neutral, go for gray. Gray is seeing more popularity because it’s a cooler option to the widely accepted beige. Combine it with yellow for energy or blue for calmness, and either is a nice contrasting look.
