South San Francisco Track Home

A Home Project in South San Francisco, CA
This is a track home built in the early 2000’s which hadn’t been painted since it was built. Over all the house was not peeling or cracking much but there was a normal amount of cracks in the stucco. In addition, the house was chalky. We also noticed the home had some dry rot on one of the door frames.
Overall the house just needed to be freshened up. For the first repainting since building, the home takes a bit more paint than usual. We prime everything to make sure that not only does the paint doesn’t peel but that the coating we apply doesn’t peel off after the 3rd or 4th time it has been painted.
Typically, chalky paint means that the paint is breaking down and is powdering up. You can check to see if a surface is chalky by simply running your hand on that surface. If it is, you’ll have powdered residue on your hand. With even minimal chalk, we ensure good adhesion by priming everything. This eliminates the guessing game on what needs to be primed.
Stucco holds paint well but we want to make sure that it’s always the case. Now that the house is painted, the overall appearance has been greatly improved. The customer picked very nice colors that really make the architecture of the home really pop.
Residential Project
After the project, CertaPro Painters® gathered images of the home’s conditions.
