Kitchen Cabinet Painting in Hillsborough

CertaPro Painters^® of San Mateo, CA was asked to assist with kitchen cabinets in Hillsborough. The condition of this customers Kitchen Cabinets were in good shape. It had been at least 10 years since they were painted. The customer wanted to update the counter tops to her kitchen cabinets and add a few touches to update the look of her kitchen.

In the job we painted the Kitchen and Laundry Room Cabinets. Besides the Counter Top the customer also wanted to change the hardware on her cabinets. Since her new Cabinet Handles were larger than the old ones, we had to fill in the old holes and re-drill new holes for the new handles. All of the hinges, handles, and cabinet doors were removed. We label the hinges and doors to make sure they go in the same spot. This ensures that the doors will open and close like they did before we painted them. Even though these Cabinets were previously painted, we still fully prime them to make sure they don’t peel in the future. The Cabinets are fully primed and painted. On this job we used Insl-X Cabinet Coat primer and paint. To make sure the job looks perfect when we are done, we also paint the walls and ceilings. The customer picked a white color the cabinets and a color from Dunn Edwards called DET596 Nightlife for the Island. The Laundry Room Cabinets were also painted with DET596 Nightlife color. I think the new counter top, the new handles, and colors really made this kitchen look more modern.

We used a tool called a “Cabinet Hardware Jig” which helps you drill precise holes for the new hardware.

All of the paint for the cabinets was applied by spray. We used an airless sprayer with a fine finish tip. All of the work was done at the customers hole.
