Our team began by thoroughly washing the entire home to ensure a clean surface for proper paint adhesion. We scraped away any loose or peeling paint, removed deteriorated caulk, and replaced it with new caulking in all areas that were to be painted. For this project, we used Sherwin-Williams Exterior Super Paint in the color SW6068 Brevity Brown. After preparation, we painted the front, interior and exterior columns, and fascia on the screened-in porch, as well as the left side, rear, and right side of the home. Each surface was carefully prepped and painted to ensure a long-lasting, high-quality finish.

Troutville Residential Exterior Painting Case Study

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
In April 2025, CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA, repainted the exterior of a home in Troutville. The previous coat of paint had chipped, faded, and peeled paint with holes in the exterior paint due to woodpeckers.
CHALLENGES
During our prep work, we faced the unique challenge of navigating around periods of inclement weather, which required careful planning and flexibility. Our team drew on extensive experience to strategically schedule both the washing and painting phases, ensuring the project remained on track despite unpredictable conditions. By closely monitoring the weather and adjusting our workflow accordingly, we maintained the quality and integrity of the work while avoiding unnecessary delays.
PROJECT TIMELINE
The project was completed in 2 days, one day for washing, and one day for painting.
THE FINAL RESULTS
The paint job dramatically refreshed the home’s exterior, restoring its vibrant look. Check out the photos below to see the stunning results!
