Residential Interior Painting Case Study

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT

In January of 2026, CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA completed a residential interior painting project for a homeowner in Roanoke. At the start of the project, the home’s interior was painted primarily in one neutral color, and the customer had recently relocated from out of state.

The project included scraping loose paint, removing old hooks and nails, replacing failing caulk, and spot priming where needed. Darker accent walls and water stains were primed with Sherwin-Williams Extreme Block Primer before all walls were painted with Sherwin-Williams Duration in satin or matte finishes. The foyer and upper hall ceilings were painted last, and a stress crack was repaired beforehand.

CHALLENGES

One of the unique challenges of this project was applying several vibrant, non-traditional paint colors while maintaining clean lines and consistent coverage.

THE FINAL RESULTS

The updated paint colors completely refreshed the interior, creating a more personalized space for the homeowner to enjoy. With smooth finishes, repaired surfaces, and bold new color choices, the home now feels welcoming and move-in ready. Check out the photos of the results below!
