Exterior Cedar Siding Refresh

The team at CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA were hired to renew the weathered cedar siding on a residential property in June 2022. The siding had received direct sunlight for about 12 years and had extreme wear and tear. We recommended the client switch from a semi-transparent stain to a solid base stain in order to maintain the integrity of the woods’ actual color.

Prior to staining, our project began with pressure washing and sanding the exterior of the home to ensure the proper adhesion of the new product. On the sides of the home that were weathered, the old product was gone entirely, therefore these sides absorbed much more product than the other sides and our painters had to, strategically apply the stain, to ensure a uniform look on all sides. This 5-day project was finished with a beautifully restored cedar siding that the client loved!
