Deck Restoration Case Study

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
Our team was hired to restore a seriously weathered deck to its original splendor. The project began with a deep clean using a pressure wash combined with Sherwin Williams’ Super Deck Revive- Deck cleaner, a product ideal for untreated wood. The deck, having never been stained, painted, or sealed, was perfectly suited for this treatment, which revitalizes the wood and restores its natural texture and appearance.

CHALLENGES:
The main challenge was the cleaning process required by the Revive Deck cleaner. This product necessitates application on small sections (5’x5’) at a time. After application, it must sit for 10-15 minutes before being sprayed off. This process is labor-intensive, especially given the deck’s extensive surface area, including a Lanai, which resulted in an entire day dedicated to washing and cleaning.

PROJECT TIMELINE
Scheduled for February 2024, the project was extended to 5 days due to weather-related delays. Two of these days were complete washouts, where the crew was unable to work, impacting the overall project timeline.

THE FINAL RESULTS
Despite the challenges and delays, the project was a success, completely transforming the distressed deck into a revitalized, inviting space. The client was exceptionally pleased with the results!
