Blue Ridge Residential Exterior Painting Case Study

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
In December 2024, CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA, repainted the exterior of a home in Blue Ridge. The previous coat of paint had chipped, faded, and peeled paint with holes in the exterior paint due to woodpeckers.
Our team began by protecting the bushes, driveway, flower beds, and walkway to ensure no damage occurred during preparation. We carefully caulked previously caulked gaps and cracks, pressure washed the surfaces, scraped off loose and peeling paint, and spot-primed any bare wood areas. The porch ceiling on the front and all four sides were painted, along with soffit siding, window frames, doors, door frames, fascia, trim, and attic vents.
CHALLENGES
During our prep work, we encountered an extensive amount of woodpecker holes that required mediation prior to us painting. Our team carefully assessed the damage and deployed a comprehensive technique in these areas, taking an approach to ensure the holes were properly filled and seamlessly blended in with the rest of the exterior. We cleaned and dried the area, chose the right filler, filled the holes, let it dry, sanded the surface, then primed and painted.
PROJECT TIMELINE
The project was completed in 3 days.
