Bedford Residential Exterior Painting Case Study

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
In April 2025, CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA completed an exterior repainting project for a residential home in Bedford. The previous paint was loose, fading, and chalking. In addition to the surface prep, the project involved addressing minor repairs and treating water damage on the deck.
Our team began by scraping any loose or peeling paint, replacing failing caulk, and spot-priming as needed. We also caulked vertical gaps between siding boards and corrected a bent siding panel at the rear of the home.
We painted all siding, soffits, fascia trim, rear doors, porch ceilings, trim, and door frames using Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint®. The front and side porch railings were stained with Sherwin-Williams SuperDeck® Solid Stain in a rich chocolate brown color. For the concrete patio flooring, we applied Sherwin-Williams Porch & Floor Enamel.
To complete the project, we primed the foundation with Loxon® Masonry Primer, followed by a finish coat of Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint®.
CHALLENGES
While we were eager to tackle a color change, the main challenge was ensuring the old color did not bleed through. Our team is very experienced in color changes and the prep needed to ensure a color change is done right.
PROJECT TIMELINE
The project was completed in 2 days: one day washing and one day painting.
THE FINAL RESULTS
The updated paint revitalized the home’s exterior and enhanced the overall aesthetic. Take a look at the photos below to see the transformative results!
