Oak Cabinet Case Study

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
The cabinets were in average condition with normal wear and tear. The cabinets were constructed from oak wood and had undergone several clear topcoat applications over the years.

We began by removing all of the doors and drawers from the kitchen cabinets. We then scuff-sanded the surfaces to prepare them for painting. Next, we applied a primer to ensure the new paint would adhere properly, and finally, we top-coated the cabinets using Emerald Acrylic Urethane.

CHALLENGES:
One of the trickiest parts of this project was figuring out how to sand the cabinets without making a huge mess in our client’s home. We sanded the doors and drawers off-site, but we had to tackle the cabinet bodies in the customer’s house. We used our Fes-tool dustless sander, to prevent any dust particles from falling into the paint, as well as to avoid creating a mess in the customer’s home.

PROJECT TIMELINE
The project took place in March 2023 and was completed in 4 days.

THE FINAL RESULTS
Freshly painted cabinets in the color “Stucco” SW7569 that the clients loved!
