Restaurant Exterior Painting Project

In June 2025, CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA, completed a full exterior repaint for Long John Silver’s in Kingsport, TN. The building was structurally sound but showed clear signs of wear. Peeling paint, faded finishes, and failing caulk were present along the siding, roof fascia, and trim, which are symptoms of long-term exposure to sun, moisture, and seasonal changes. Key features like signage, lighting fixtures, and the drive-thru menu board had lost their original color and visibility, detracting from the brand’s curb appeal and guest experience.

Our crew began by scraping loose or peeling paint, replacing deteriorated caulk, and spot priming to prepare all surfaces for durable adhesion. The roof and fascia were coated with Sherwin-Williams Bond-Plex, a high-performance coating engineered for flexibility and weather resistance. The siding, framing, chair rail, and doors received a fresh application of Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint, delivering vibrant color and strong protection against the elements.

To maintain brand visibility and enhance visual appeal, the team also refinished the lamp posts, railings, directional signs, wall lamps, pylon sign, and drive-thru menu board using Pro-Industrial Enamel Urethane, a tough, commercial-grade coating designed for high-traffic environments.

Due to the restaurant’s location (2.5 hours from our home base) and the fact that it remained open during the project, all work was scheduled outside of operating hours. Careful planning ensured minimal disruption while keeping the project on time.

This project took 2.5 days and was completed by Gabriel’s crew.
