Commercial Interior Painting Project
In September 2024, CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA, was hired to paint the ceiling of a local event center in Roanoke. This popular venue attracts residents and visitors from surrounding areas for special events. Before the project began, there was considerable peeling paint, signs of aging, wear and tear, and significant fading of the previous light cream color. The customer requested a complete color change.
The team prepared the area by covering various surfaces that the commercial client wanted to protect from paint using plastic to prevent overspray. They cleaned all surfaces to eliminate debris and dust. The protection extended from the floor to the point where the walls meet the ceiling. The ceiling was painted using sprayers with Sherwin Williams’ Tricorn Black. This project required specialized equipment and techniques, including high ladders and high-pressure painting tips, to achieve a smooth, even coat.
The challenges in this project included ensuring that small surfaces like sprinkler heads, electrical components, and HVAC areas were properly covered. Additionally, when the painters protected the furniture, walls, and carpet, they had to ensure complete coverage while using equipment that could cause overspray, all without disrupting the smaller surfaces that also needed protection.
