Truck Stop Exterior Painting Case Study

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT

In February 2026, CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA completed a commercial exterior painting project for a local truck stop in Dublin, VA. When the project began, the building’s exterior showed normal wear and tear and was in need of fresh commercial-grade coatings for protection and an updated appearance.

To prepare the surfaces, our team first scraped all loose and peeling paint from the building’s exterior. After the initial surface preparation was completed, we power washed the entire property to remove dirt, grime, and remaining debris to ensure proper paint adhesion. Once the surfaces were clean and dry, our painters replaced failing caulk and spot primed areas as needed to create a durable foundation for the new coatings.

After preparation was complete, we applied Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint in a satin finish to the siding using a professional spray application for a smooth, even appearance. Our team also coated the fascia trim, gutters, JJ awning, downspouts, paintable doors, and door frames using Sherwin-Williams Pro Industrial Enamel Urethane for added durability and long-term protection.

CHALLENGES

The biggest challenge during this project was working around active customer traffic, as the truck stop remained fully operational throughout the duration of the job. With trucks, customers, and employees constantly moving through the property, our team carefully coordinated scheduling and work areas to minimize disruptions and maintain a safe environment for everyone on-site.

FINAL RESULTS

The completed project gave the truck stop a clean, updated appearance while adding a durable layer of protection against daily wear and exposure to the elements.
