Interior House Painting Case Study

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
In November 2024, CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA, completed a large residential interior painting project in Cave Spring. The surfaces prior to painting were discolored, faded, and peeling, with inconsistent coloring throughout. The project involved painting three bedrooms, their closets, the foyer, office, stairwell, and upstairs hallway. Our team began by scraping the surfaces to remove any loose or peeling paint. They also removed failing caulk and replaced it with new. Nail holes were filled and the surfaces were sanded to a smooth finish before painting. Our painters only applied the paint to the walls and ceilings in the specified areas.

For this project, we used Sherwin Williams Interior Acrylic-Latex Super Paint in a flat sheen. The customer opted for a two-tone wall design, with Touch of Grey (SW9549) and Intellectual Gray (SW7045) for the walls and Extra White (SW7006) for the trim.

CHALLENGES
The main challenge of this project involved a room with wallpaper that had been installed by a family member of the homeowner. The homeowners requested that the wallpaper remain untouched, without any alterations. The challenge was to work around the wallpaper without disturbing it. Marbel and Luis’ team handled this with exceptional precision, ensuring the wallpaper stayed intact throughout the process.

PROJECT TIMELINE
The project was finished in 1 day in November 2024.

THE FINAL RESULTS
The new colors brought a refreshing update to the home, and the customer was thrilled with the results! See the transformation below.
