Multi-Purpose Arena Interior Painting Project
In November 2024, CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA, was contracted to refresh parts of the interior of a multi-purpose area in Roanoke. This complex arena hosts ice hockey games, concerts, and various indoor events. Upon arrival, the team found faded and chipped paint in high-traffic areas, along with damage from previously hung signs and posters, as well as residual residue on the walls.
The scope of work included painting a maroon wall in the office building and an office in the Ice Arena Building. In the office, we painted the walls, two doors, and one door frame to match the new wall color. We also removed peeling paint from the ceiling and repainted it. The doors and door frames in two gate areas were painted after hand-washing with TSP to remove potential sticker glue, and bond primer was applied where needed. We used Sherwin Williams Super Paint Latex in Satin sheen for the walls, in Popular Gray (SW6071), Spalding Gray (SW6074), and Alpaca (SW7022). The trim was painted with Sherwin Williams Pro Industrial Water-Based Alkyd Urethane in Divine White (SW6105) and Sherwin Williams Pro Industrial Pre-Catalyzed Water-Based Semi-Gloss in Bagel (SW6114).
The main challenge of this project was that the building remained occupied by employees and event center guests. However, our team is always mindful of working in active spaces and they ensured the project was completed without disruption.
We completed the project in just 1 day, giving the arena a fresh, updated look. See the transformation below!
