Ceiling Repair and Painting Case Study

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
In October 2024, CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA, completed an interior ceiling repair and painting project. Upon arrival, our team found a large hole in the center of the ceiling, with the homeowners noting that cooler temperatures caused a draft through the gap. Byron’s crew replaced the old insulation, installed new wallboard, taped and skim-coated the area, then sanded it smooth before applying a fresh coat of paint. The skim coating ensured a seamless blend with the surrounding ceiling, leaving no visible signs of the repair.

CHALLENGES:
A key challenge in this project was working while maintaining a containment zone beneath the damaged ceiling. To manage this, we carefully covered the area to prevent debris from scattering during scraping and cutting. Our team then collected and properly disposed of all the debris.
