Deck Staining

The CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA, team was hired to transform a residential deck. At the time our work began, the wood surface had never been stained, except for the pickets and built-in bench. Most of the wood was bare, weathered, and discolored.

To ensure the stain could fully adhere to the deck, our team used “Revive,” a wood cleaner by Sherwin Williams, to pressure wash the surface. Following the application of the cleaner, the deck was thoroughly rinsed. Once the wood was prepped, we matched the deck stain to the fence, handrails, and pickets that had been stained three years ago. We performed a custom color match by removing a paint chip from the handrails that had minimal fading. After we determined the color, our team painted the wood and left with a beautifully refreshed deck.
