Scope of the Project:
This home was in severe disrepair, with extensive wood rot causing siding boards to fall off. Due to a city citation, the repairs and painting needed to be completed promptly to avoid fines. The project required extensive carpentry and wood replacement before any painting could begin. Entire sections of siding had to be replaced, far exceeding a simple paint job.
To ensure a seamless transformation, the team carefully selected materials that matched the existing wood siding.
Challenges & Solutions:
One of the biggest challenges was a small courtyard, where the homeowner’s rusted-shut sliding glass door made access nearly impossible. With no direct entry, our team had to get creative, ultimately climbing over a brick wall from a neighbor’s property to complete the necessary work.
Working on a fragile tile roof added another layer of complexity, as did the challenge of removing and disposing of significant amounts of rotted wood.
Despite the challenges, the project was completed successfully, resulting in a dramatic improvement to the home’s exterior. The homeowner was able to avoid fines, and the finished product showcased the extensive effort put into restoring the property.
