Commercial Building Emergency Wall Repair

Project Involvement:

This project took place in Renton, WA, in March 2025. It involved emergency drywall repairs in a three-story medical building’s stairwell, which had been damaged when plumbers cut into the drywall to fix a pipe leak. The building, a medical facility, required immediate attention to restore the appearance of the stairwell walls.

The facility had two large sections of drywall removed on the second and third floors as part of the plumbing repairs.

Special Techniques:

Our team was called in to handle the drywall repairs, including mudding, taping, texturing to match the existing surface, and applying a PVA primer followed by painting to restore the wall’s appearance.

One of the key challenges involved the height and angles of the repair areas, which required the use of extension ladders and ladder leveling equipment for safe access. A prework ladder safety meeting was held to ensure proper safety protocols were followed. Special techniques and equipment were necessary to navigate the difficult access points and ensure quality work in a safe manner.
