American Heritage School
CertaPro Painters of Provo, UT was contracted this past July by the American Heritage School to repaint a campus expansion before students arrived in the fall. The new high school addition had only been in use for about 2 years and the paint was already starting to fail. The school was concerned that at the rate things had been going that bare drywall would soon be showing and greater damage would soon happen.
Given the constant contact of students on classroom & hallway walls, we recommended the school move away from contractor grade products and start using a high end paint such as Duration by Sherwin-Williams, which would offer greater durability & protection, as well as allow for regular cleaning without the fear of previous paint failures.
Throughout the project, the greatest challenge was getting access to all of the 7,000 square foot facilities’ common areas, offices, classrooms and hallways during a very short summer break window. There was also HVAC, Electrical, and general construction work happening during this same time window. We worked hard to make sure we communicated with the other contractors on site so that they could be aware of what areas were still wet, and also so that we could coordinate with them which rooms were most ready for our pros to paint.
Most of the areas were rolled and cut in with a brush. We did use a Graco Ultra Cordless Airless Handheld Paint Sprayer 17M363 to do some metal door frame work as well. Our painters are great with using high end paint products like Duration & Emerald. They understand the composition of the product and are able to roll it out without roll lines, splotchy areas, stipple, and shadowing. These top tier paints can be unforgiving; but, having a pro really makes the job look easy, and the results amazing!
