Water Treatment Facility Case Study
In Grosse Pointe, MI, a water treatment facility underwent maintenance, focusing on specific areas. The team addressed the ceiling and walls of one water treatment area and tackled 50-foot high beams in another section. Ceilings above open water tanks were in a deteriorated state, prompting the construction of platforms and the use of tarps for enclosure. Hand scraping was employed before the application of paint. The project also involved the construction of flooring above water areas, the creation of “tent” walls, meticulous hand scraping, cleanup, and the application of special two-part epoxy paints for priming and painting.
CHALLENGES:
Numerous bundles of lumber and tarps were bought for the construction of flooring and walls.
CONDITIONS:
The ceilings above the open water tanks exhibited severe peeling. To address this, we constructed platforms and enclosed the area with tarps while manually scraping before applying paint.
