Mechanics Lab Refurbishment in Ypsilanti, MI
Featured Commercial Project
7,000 Square Foot University EV Lab Transformation
The commercial renovation project took place in Ypsilanti, MI, in November 2024, and was completed within a month. The project focused on transforming a 7,500-square-foot university electric vehicle (EV) lab, which consisted of two large rooms, into a space suited for a different use.
SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
At the start of the project, the facility’s surfaces were heavily soiled, requiring thorough cleaning using compressed air. To protect equipment and flooring, all items were covered with plastic before painting began. The work involved painting both block and drywall surfaces, as well as cleaning and painting large duct tubes along the ceiling.
CHALLENGES AND RESOLUTIONS:
The project presented several challenges, particularly due to the height and complexity of the space. The team utilized two lifts, scaffolds, and a compressor to effectively complete the work. Despite these challenges, the project was completed efficiently, leaving the facility with a clean, refreshed appearance suited for its new purpose.
