Detroit-Windsor Tunnel Letter Painting
CertaPro Painters® of Plymouth, MI
Exterior Company Name Painting
Our painters were recently hired by the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel company to repaint the exterior lettering on their building in Detroit, Michigan. During the course of this project, our team had to use a variety of methods to try to paint the lettering on this 200′ skyline while minimizing disruption and effectively reaching all the letters safely.
CHALLENGES:
The most challenging part of this painting process was trying to access the space appropriately using the existing equipment at our disposal. We tried to access the lettering via a boom lift—looked at a swing stage or scaffolding – the only way was to paint from a cage from a large crane. We had to visit the site multiple times to find a way to safely paint the lettering. We had to move to another side as the first side had a cavity under the surface and the crane could have collapsed.
CONDITIONS:
The lettering before we repainted was chipped and faded due to the natural conditions of the weather.
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
This project involved the use of our crane and cage to safely paint the lettering at the height of 200′.
PROJECT TIMELINE: 2 Months
