CertaPro Partners with New City Kids

Jim Zandee, owner of CertaPro Plymouth is excited to be on the board of New City Kids Detroit (NCK), where his painting teams have painted most of the church where NCK meets, at no cost.
New City Kids (NCK) has been in existence for over 25 years, changing the lives of many inner-city children in Paterson and Jersey City, NJ, Grand Rapids, MI, and these last 2 years, in Detroit.
NCK employs inner-city teens to work with younger youth in their neighborhood, after school. They do music, learn an instrument, like drums or piano, and work on their schoolwork. According to New City Kids:
“New City Kids After School Center serves children (1st-8th grade) daily at seven sites in four cities: Jersey City and Paterson, NJ, and Grand Rapids and Detroit, MI. The core curriculum blends English, math, and geography lessons with fine and performing arts, music, and more.”
NCK Teens are very empowered, with the teens having lots of responsibilities to lead. During the teen’s Jr year, they are taken on college tours, and NCK has a 90+% Graduation rate from College.
