Tudor-Style Home Painting in Mt. Lebanon, PA
CertaPro Painters® of Pittsburgh – South Hills, PA was chosen to prep and paint this stucco and wood Tudor style home. The house required a great deal of prep to make sure that it was both ready for paint and impervious to further water penetration problems that it had previously suffered. Over the course of 10 days our painters transformed this home and made it safe from the elements for years to come.
About the Project:
Condition of the home:
This is a 96-year old tudor-style home that had peeling paint on both the stucco and wood trim boards as well as being in desperate need of wood replacement, filling up cracks, and general exterior maintenance.
In addition to the peeling paint, this home was plagued with water infiltration in several locations. The previous home owner unsuccessfully DYI’d much of the homes exterior repairs which left unfinished trim, rotting wood, and exposed insulation.
Project Involvement:
Heavy preparation including scraping, sanding, caulking, wood filling, and minor carpentry including replacing trim boards and frames. We primed all newly installed wood and then painted this charming home with 2 coats of a bright new color.
Special Challenges:
The prep in this job was critical. We had to go over every inch of the home to be sure we were not missing any gaps, compromised wood, or peeling paint. In addition, we worked around 3 friendly dogs and a new baby that we worked to not disturb.
