Our painters were recently contacted to renovate a kitchen with a cabinet painting service. The homeowner was looking to brighten up their space with a new paint color. We took these cabinets from dark cherry to a soft gray. This painting service took us one week to complete. You can learn more details about this project below.
About the Project:
Condition of the home:
We were hired to paint kitchen cabinets to brighten up a dark kitchen . We made a big color transformation from dark cherry wood cabinets to a soft grey.
Project Involvement:
First we cover all flooring. Then we label all the doors and drawers to ensure we get everything back in right spot. After this we remove the doors. Thoroughly clean all doors, drawers, frames with a de-greaser. Take plastic off the openings, and sand down the frame and doors using 100 grit. Next we prime all wood with 2 coats and patch any imperfections and caulk.
After this step we sand the frame and doors again using 180 grit, and spray one coat of top coat. Then we sand frame and doors again using 320 grit and spray second top coat. Touch ups are completed as needed. The last step is to replace drawers and doors and install hardware.
Special Challenges:
We use a cabinet drying rack onsite along with a tent to ensure no overspray.
