About the Project:
Condition of the deck before work began:
This beautiful older home in Mt. Lebanon has one of the most beautiful outside living spaces. The deck, patio, walkways, benches and fences all played an integral part in the family enjoying the outside. The deck areas had not been stained or cleaned in many years and had some dirt and mold build up as well as peeling stain, and some damaged boards and lattice.
Project Involvement:
The project involved scraping and sanding where the deck stain was failing, a thorough wash with deck wash to remove stains, and repairs to damaged boards and replacement of some lattice. We had to take extreme care not to damage any foliage or plants surrounding the area. We then applied two coats of Super Deck Solid Stain. We returned in 4 days to put all the patio furniture back in place for the client.
Special Challenges:
Being careful around the plants and spacing out the washing and the staining to be sure that the surface was completely dry before we applied stain.
