CertaPro Painters® of Pittsburgh – South Hills, PA was recently contacted to pressure wash and stain this traditional brick home. Over the course of 5 days our painters transformed this home and made it a standout in the neighborhood.
About the Project:
Condition of the home:
This home was a traditional brick home with a dark feel. Due to some previous work that had been done
on the front of the home there was also a big patch of brick right on the front that did not match the rest of
the home.
Project Involvement:
Pressure washing and then staining of the brick exterior.
Special Challenges:
The side and back of the house were on a steep slope which made ladder access tricky.
We used stain, instead of paint, to ensure that the texture of the brick came through and the house does
not get a lot of sunlight and stain does not trap moisture.
We sprayed the stain and then back rolled to make sure we penetrated the brick.
Special equipment or materials?
We used an airless sprayer and then back rolled to make sure we penetrated the brick thoroughly. We used a product called Loxon Vertical Stain.
