Elevating Curb Appeal in Mt. Lebanon
In May 2026, CertaPro Painters® of Pittsburgh - South Hills, PA transformed a character-filled brick home in Mt. Lebanon, PA with a dramatic exterior makeover that enhanced its curb appeal while preserving its architectural charm. The homeowners felt the original yellow-toned brick exterior looked somewhat bland despite the home’s strong design and classic features. Over the course of five days, our team applied a custom color treatment that completely refreshed the appearance of the property and gave it a more modern, sophisticated look.
About the Project
The centerpiece of the project was the application of Sherwin-Williams Loxon Vertical Concrete Stain, which penetrated the brick surface to create a beautiful gray-green finish while allowing the masonry’s natural texture to remain visible. To complement the updated brick color, the pillars, cornices, and window accents were finished in a striking jet black, creating bold contrast and architectural definition.
One of the primary challenges involved the home’s deep mortar joints, which required a combination of spray application, back-rolling, and detailed brushwork to ensure complete and consistent coverage throughout the brick surface.
The completed transformation gave the home an entirely new personality while maintaining the timeless character of the original brick architecture. The brighter color of the brick paired with the black accents created a modern, upscale appearance that immediately enhanced curb appeal and helped the home stand out within the neighborhood. The homeowners were thrilled with the results, achieving the dramatic update they envisioned without sacrificing the charm and craftsmanship that made them love the home in the first place.
