National Retail Distribution Center

In June of 2022, CertaPro Painters® of Pearland & Friendswood, TX was hired to be the painting partner for a large National Retail Distribution Center in Houston. The Distribution Center is approximately one million square feet and includes close to 150 truck bays. This project included many of our services, including power washing the building, truck bays, stucco repair; sanding of rusted areas; as well as painting the building, doors, vents, stairs, and handrails. Additionally, we also painted the emergency equipment
around the building and did cleaning and striping of the truck bay parking lot and the 70 parking pad stripes, numbering the truck bays and truck parking spots.

This project required a great deal of communication, preparation, and coordination before the work began. Our painting crew consisted of six men who each underwent an extensive background check since the property has strict security protocol. Communication with the shipping and receiving teams, as well as the company’s operations teams for both day shift and night shift
was paramount to running a smooth project of this size.

Preparation included renting a 45’ boom lift, moving several generators from our storage facility to the work site, as well as sourcing all paint and materials necessary for the project. The generators were required to power several spray rigs. Coordination involved which areas would be washed, repaired, and painted in which order. This process was challenging since the distribution center was fully operational, 24/7, during the six weeks we were onsite. This project required a lot of flexibility from our crews from starting well before dawn on some days and finishing well into the night on other days.
