Morgan Hill Exterior
Featured Residential Project
Morgan Hill Exterior
The homeowner had three reasons to paint the exterior of her home. While the house had a lovely architecture, she called the blue gray color “horrid”. Because it didn’t compliment the house or natural surrounding areas, a new palette was in order. Previous painting was done with low quality paint and questionable techniques resulting in patchy areas and irregular surfaces.
In addition to the main substrate, the siding was not painted and looked neglected. Bad caulking around the window frames allowed drafts and pests to get in.

CHALLENGES:
The last time the exterior was painted, there was little attention to detail. The color was not pleasing to the homeowner so a color palette change was necessary. With the exterior painting, our crew was able to address caulking and other repairs that were warranted.
CONDITIONS:
- Cracked and missing caulking.
- Holidays in various areas.
- Poor color choice.
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
- Preparation: Sanding and scraping.
- Repairs: Caulking and light carpentry repairs.
- Painting: Full priming before paint was applied.
PROJECT TIMELINE
Started: July 2020
Duration: 8 Days
BEFORE PHOTOS
Before the project began we did an assessment of the building. A number of issues were found including peeling paint and minor repairs necessary.
THE FINAL RESULTS
After completion we walked around the building and took photos of each area of concern that were noted at the beginning of the project. The once failing surfaces look brand new again.
