Modern Color for a Brick Home
In October 2025, CertaPro Painters® of Palatine, IL completed a three-day exterior update for a well-maintained home in Arlington Heights, IL. Although the home was in good condition, the homeowner wanted a refreshed, modern look. Our crew used a skilled brush-and-roll application, ideal for detailed trim work and clean edges, while also allowing for precise control on brick and masonry surfaces.
Because this project took place late in the season, weather conditions required careful planning; the team strategically scheduled painting during the warmest part of the day, ensuring temperatures stayed above 50°F to achieve proper adhesion and curing.
The project included power and hand washing to remove chalking and mildew, thorough scraping and wire-brushing of peeling paint, and caulking of any previously sealed gaps using Vulkem textured caulk. The brick siding and accent areas received one coat of masonry primer followed by two top coats of Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint Acrylic Loxon Concrete & Masonry Flat White, delivering a crisp, uniform finish with long-lasting durability. The final result was a bright, refreshed exterior that enhanced curb appeal for years to come.
