Commercial Case Study
Greek Revival Mansion
The Client:
Built in 1850, this Greek Revival Mansion was known for multiple years as the renowned Peach Grove Inn. It now operates as an Airbnb.
Our team performed various painting projects for the mansion when it was operating as the Peach Grove Inn. Recently, the ownership changed, and the out-of-state owners were looking to completely update the building’s exterior as part of a rebranding.
The Client Challenge:
Around September 2022, the owners of this 1850 Greek Revival mansion reached out to us to update its exterior color. However, we discovered other neglected areas that needed repair.
After our initial site visit, we were asked to update a couple of interior utility rooms as well as patch and repair the ornate exterior trim. We were also asked to repaint the aluminum siding, dual four-story brick chimneys, and the metal roof and wood trim on both the primary and carriage houses.
Before the project began, we ran into some challenges. An established bee colony was present on the property and needed removal. We also needed a lift higher than the one available to us to reach the most elevated surfaces. The owners were reluctant to use a larger lift on the property due to possible damage to the driveway and lawns. Lastly, the project was scheduled while several special events were occurring on the property.
The CertaPro Painters® Solution:
Our crew completed the necessary painting and carpentry over three weeks without disturbing the daily foot traffic and events. Although the exterminator never removed the bee colony, our team was able to work around it thanks to appropriate protective gear. Additionally, we wore magnetic boots to safely work across the roof instead of using a lift.
The Success and Result:
Despite the challenges, our crew successfully finished the painting and carpentry project with impressive results. The property has a refreshed look and a more durable exterior that will keep the space in good condition for many years.
