A Historic Home Exterior Project in Omaha, NE

CertaPro Painters® of Omaha, NE completed an exterior painting project on a historic home in June 2025. The home, built in the late 1800s, hadn’t been painted in many years and had extensive peeling paint across the entire exterior. One of the standout features of the home was the more than 50 corbels along the soffits, all of which needed careful prep and attention.

The project took about one week from start to finish. We began by scraping all the loose peeling paint. Once prepped, we primed all surfaces and applied a fresh coat of Sherwin-Williams paint. The main color is Clary Sage 6178, with crisp white trim and accent details in Dried Thyme 6186. These classic colors brought a refreshed, elegant look to the historic exterior while staying true to the home’s original character.

The biggest challenge on this project was the home being hit by a hail storm last year, which caused further peeling. The home also tested positive for lead-based paint, our lead-certified team followed safety procedures throughout the job to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

While we didn’t use any heavy-duty equipment, the project was completed with skill, care, and lots of love. In the end, the home was beautifully restored and ready to stand strong for many more years to come.
