This government-operated nursing home facility serves an important role in the community, providing housing and care for residents who depend on a safe and well-maintained environment. The building itself is older and shows the natural effects of years of exposure to Florida’s climate. The scope of work focused specifically on the exterior sides of all doors and the surrounding window frames. Although the area being painted was targeted rather than a full building repaint, the condition of the materials required significant preparation before any paint could be applied.

When the CertaPro team arrived on site, many of the wood trims and frames were in very poor condition. In several areas the deterioration was severe enough that replacement would ultimately be the ideal long-term solution. However, since window replacement was not currently part of the project scope, the painters focused on stabilizing and improving the existing surfaces as much as possible. The crew carried out careful surface preparation, including cleaning, sanding, sealing gaps, and applying caulking where needed to close openings around frames and trims. This preparation step was essential to ensure the new coatings would adhere properly and help protect the wood from further moisture intrusion.

Because of the building’s age and condition, the work also presented several logistical challenges. Many of the window areas required scaffolding to safely reach elevated sections and to provide a stable platform for detailed prep and painting. Working around fragile trim and aged materials demanded extra care from the crew to avoid causing additional damage while still delivering a professional finish. The team balanced efficiency with caution, steadily moving through the property over the course of the month-long project.

Despite the limitations of the structure and the wear present in the building materials, the final result provided a noticeable improvement to the exterior appearance and protection of the facility. Fresh paint on the doors and window frames helped restore a cleaner, more maintained look while also sealing vulnerable surfaces from weather exposure. Even on older buildings where full replacement is not immediately possible, strategic preparation and professional coatings can significantly extend the life of existing materials.
