Case Study Client: Alemany High School
The Commercial painting project:
The building that houses Alemany High School’s administration is a former seminary and part of the San Fernando Mission found in Mission Hills. The building is typical of many stucco buildings in the area but it does boast one special feature, a very tall steeple. Both the building and the steeple were is fairly dire need of repair and repainting with paint and stucco literally falling off the building in certain spots. The existing paint was inconsistent and faded in spots as well, creating a very uneven mottled look.
Before preparation and painting:
Here you can see window frames with damage and flaking paint, stucco and paint flaking off in large pieces, and large bubbles forming under the stucco. The building was nearing a state of disrepair and further neglect would have been an invite for potential water or insect damage.
During the transformation:
After patching the stucco and repairing underlying damage the surface was prepped for painting. To reach the steeple peak it was necessary to use a lift for the front side and scaffolding for the back in order to get complete access to the tall peak of the building.
After the project was completed:
With the painting completed, the school took on a clean and uniform finish that reflected well on the school administration and presented an inviting place to learn for the students.
