In the summer of 2025, CertaPro Painters® of Northeast Georgia partnered with a university in Dahlonega to complete a large-scale gymnasium painting project just in time for the fall semester. The project called for repainting the interior walls and incorporating a bold blue stripe design to elevate the space’s energy and visual impact.
With students set to return the following week, the team faced a strict one-week deadline to complete all work before campus activities resumed. Careful planning, the right equipment, and a skilled crew ensured the project was delivered on schedule without compromising quality. The result was a vibrant, refreshed gym that welcomed students back in style.
Project Overview
The project was completed in just four days between July 29th and August 1st, 2025, meeting the university’s urgent deadline.
Scope of Work:
Full repainting of gymnasium walls.
Addition of a continuous blue stripe design for visual interest and branding.
Careful coordination to protect the basketball court and surrounding facilities.
Challenges Addressed:
Strict one-week timeline due to the start of the school year.
Need to complete high-ceiling work efficiently while preventing any damage to the gym floor.
Special Equipment & Techniques:
Two 40-foot scissor lifts were used to access overhanging ceiling areas.
This method eliminated the need for multiple ladder moves and prevented scuff marks on the basketball court surface.
Results:
The gym was transformed into a vibrant, student-ready space within the tight timeline. The bold blue stripe added a modern, energetic touch that enhanced the overall atmosphere, while the freshly painted walls brightened the environment. Gymnasium Painting Project
I am the Building Trades Manager at one of Georgia's Universities and during our summer breaks we do a lot of different types of renovations. One of the bigger renovations this summer was to make wall repairs and paint the gymnasium, so I gave Brian at CertaPro a call and explained what I needed. When he came out he was very thorough as he went over every detail of the project with me, including fire alarms, water sprinklers, and the whole bit. He then came back with a reasonable quote.
