External factors like weather or prior job changes may affect the start date. If that occurs, we’ll contact you promptly.
Exterior Project Preparation Checklist for CertaPro Painters of NE Wisconsin
Foliage:
Trim back any bushes, shrubs, or vines that are within 12 inches of surfaces to be painted. This will help ensure efficient and thorough paint coverage. While we’ll do our best to paint behind foliage, we cannot guarantee perfect results in these areas.
Windows:
Securely close all windows before we arrive for pressure washing. If you’ve experienced any past water leaks around your windows or doors, please notify your project supervisor so we can take appropriate precautions. Consider placing towels around windows prone to leaks to help prevent moisture entry.
Decks and Porches:
Remove all small, loose, or fabric items from your decks and porches prior to our arrival. We will not pressure wash decks unless they are also scheduled to be stained by our team, as this can cause issues with peeling paint.
Screens:
Unlatch your window screens from the inside so they can be easily removed from the exterior without requiring us to enter your home. Storm windows may only be removed if they are not permanently affixed, as we cannot force their removal to avoid potential damage.
Pets:
Please make arrangements to keep all pets out of the work areas for the duration of the project. If there are any special instructions regarding gates, latches, or other pet-related access points, please inform your project supervisor upon their arrival.
Property Access:
Ensure we have access to all areas within the project scope by unlocking gates and providing any necessary codes for locks or lockboxes. This will allow us to efficiently complete the work.
Utilities:
Identify the locations of exterior water spigots and electrical outlets that we may need to access during the project. Providing this information upfront will help streamline the workflow.
Parking:
If there are any parking restrictions in your neighborhood, please let us know in advance. For projects at commercial buildings with limited parking, provide guidance on the best places for our crews to park.
HOA Approval:
If your property is governed by a Homeowners Association, check the bylaws and obtain any necessary approvals for the planned paint colors and project work before we arrive on site.

- Move and group large patio/porch furniture away from work areas, subject to weight restrictions.
- Cover furniture near work areas with plastic and/or drop cloths.
- Return moved furniture to original positions after completion.
- Remove and dispose of any trash, leftover materials, and empty cans.
- Mark and leave remaining paint cans for customer touchups.
Both Carlos, the production associate, and Jose M., the Job Site supervisor, were courteous and efficient. Jose finished the job in record time, cleaned up all signs of the work, and provided added assistance by carrying my extra paint to my garage.

Walkthrough and Project Communication for CertaPro Painters of NE Wisconsin
To ensure you are satisfied with the completed project, the Jobsite Supervisor will thoroughly review the work with you upon finishing. They will answer any questions you have and walk through the project details. You are not expected to make final payment until this walkthrough is complete.
The Jobsite Supervisor’s goal is to demonstrate the exceptional quality of the work and ensure you are completely satisfied before concluding the project. They will:
- Inform you of the expected project completion date and time.
- Conduct a comprehensive walkthrough of the finished work, taking the time to address any questions or concerns you may have.
- Serve as your primary on-site point of contact throughout the project duration.
If you need further assistance beyond the Jobsite Supervisor, you can also reach out to our Production Associate.
After the walkthrough, please sign the job proposal and provide the final payment to the Jobsite Supervisor. We request that you please make time in your schedule to meet with the Supervisor for this important final review.
