Major Retail Plaza Repaint

The scope of the project included repainting the exterior tilt-wall surfaces across the entire shopping center, along with the railings and personnel doors throughout the property. While the metal awnings were excluded from the work, nearly every other exterior painted surface received attention. In addition, the team refreshed the railings in front of popular tenant spaces including Jersey Mike’s and Lost Bar & Grill. To complete the transformation, the fire lane markings in the parking lot were also repainted, improving both visibility and safety for the property.

One of the most noticeable aspects of the project was the significant color change. The updated palette dramatically improved the overall appearance of the shopping center, replacing the previous look with a cleaner, more contemporary finish. Once completed, the building presented a refreshed, cohesive aesthetic that better matched the modern retail environment while helping the individual storefronts stand out more effectively to passing customers.

Because the building houses active retail and restaurant tenants, scheduling and communication were critical to the success of the project. The biggest challenge involved working around store operations, customer traffic, and constant vehicle movement in the parking lot. To ensure the process ran smoothly, the project manager personally introduced himself to each store manager, providing business cards and inviting them to reach out directly with any concerns. This proactive approach helped build trust with the tenants and ensured everyone understood the schedule and workflow.

The painting crew also split the work schedule strategically to minimize disruption. Approximately half of the work was completed overnight when customer traffic was low, while the remainder took place during regular business hours with careful staging and safety measures in place. Thanks to this planning and clear communication, the project was completed without a single complaint from tenants or the property management team—an outcome that speaks to the professionalism and organization of the crew.
