From June to July of 2023, CertaPro Painters was hard at work repainting and revitalizing the exterior of our local HEB Grocery store in San Antonio, TX. Over a five week period, our team restored the former shine of this commercial property exterior in order to maximize its curb appeal and approachability. CHALLENGES:
The vast majority of the painting had to be done in the evening or at night for the sake of our painters and the business. The point of any commercial repaint is approachability, and that’s why we offer off-hours & weekend painting services.
Our team had to work closely with multiple store managers to close entrances and/or block sidewalks when necessary. Here at CertaPro, we work swiftly, but also with attention to detail to ensure the project is done right the first time.
A 65ft boom lift was required on the job-site to reach and repaint every inch of this beautiful business exterior.
CONDITIONS:
Faded/Outdated Color Scheme – This business has been a staple of the community for years, but this also means the building was stuck sporting dated color schemes.
Paint Damage – Paint was peeling from the windows and trim. The siding was also chalking, making the exterior look far from perfect.
Dust/Dirt Buildup – Even if the paint was in top condition, the years of dust and dirt buildup on the building exterior darkened an otherwise attractive business.
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
Preparations – Every project begins with a complimentary estimate project to determine the property owner’s goals/vision.
Scraping/Sanding – All loose and peeling paint had to be removed through scraping and sanding by hand. When that was done, a thorough power wash was given to eliminate exterior residues on the property. All of this was done to ensure the paint would adhere properly to the surface.
Decal Removal/Priming – Decals were removed from the train car and the surface was primed for a smooth finish.
Metal Surface Painting – The HEB grocery store has awning supports and metal siding that needed to be repainted to compliment the primary color scheme.
Finally Painting – The new color scheme is comprised of a palette of six distinct colors to maximize the curb appeal of the business.
