The Best Paint Colors for Low-Light Rooms

When most people are deciding on a paint color for low-light room they usually tend to think of light colors or even just bright white. However, painters would advise you to stay away from white, you should actually go for the complete opposite. Rather than trying to figure out how to make the dark, light, you should appreciate the dark and use it as an opportunity to create a unique cozy space in your home. Embrace the darkness and chose a bold dark color. This will create a room that is filled with intimacy. Black

We are starting off with the darkest and most certainly the boldest of options. You know, “Go Big or Go Home”. Black is becoming an increasingly popular paint color. It creates a very cozy atmosphere. This would work particularly well in bedrooms.

Plum

If you like the idea of black but can’t fully commit, try a deep plum shade. It gives a similar effect as black walls but not as dramatic. It looks great paired with neutrals.

Charcoal Blue

Similar to plum, it is a good alternative to black. It is dramatic and looks best paired with gray or light blue décor.

Lilac

If you like the lighter shades this one is for you. Chose a lilac shade that has gray undertones. It isn’t dark but it will still give off the moody vibes we are going for.

Forest Green

If you want to add some color to space, try a rich green shade. It will add that touch of nature.

Camel Brown

This deep warm hue is perfect. It could be used in just about any area of your home. It looks great paired with other warm neutral tones.

Bold Red

Red is passionate and would work best in dining spaces or bathrooms. It brings life to any space and will definitely make a statement.
