Project: Our team was recently contacted to enhance the exterior of this home. The dormer sides facing East and West exhibited significant peeling on the clapboards, while the fascia trim boards had holes from woodpecker damage that needed replacement. Additionally, there were rotted clapboards on various sections of both dormer sides and the North-facing side. The front farmer’s porch required new posts due to rot, and the mahogany decking needed repairs and sanding. On the backside, the vertical barnboard on the garage side had to be completely replaced.

Challenges: Our team’s solid carpentry expertise allowed for a smooth integration of carpentry, painting, and staining in this project. Nonetheless, initiating the project came with its set of challenges, primarily stemming from the unpredictable weather conditions. The ever-present threat of intermittent rain, sudden pop-up showers, persistent morning fog, the onset of cooler Fall temperatures, and the dewy mornings all conspired to constrain the hours available for painting work, adding an element of complexity to the project’s onset.

Result: Overall, this project took 2.5 weeks for the painting crew to complete and the family was very happy with the look of their home.
