Hollis Social Library Interior Transformation

Project: The Hollis Social Library in Hollis, NH, is a historic public facility filled with books and community activity. At the start of the project, the surfaces were clean but in need of a refreshed appearance to better preserve and enhance the building’s character.

Process: The team at CertaPro Painters® of Nashua, NH and Westford, MA, completed a full interior repaint, including walls, ceilings, trim, and decorative columns. To improve efficiency and meet a tight timeline, paint was delivered directly on-site so the crew could remain focused on production. By carefully moving and covering accessible areas, the team utilized airless sprayers to expedite the process while maintaining a high-quality finish. Staging was also used to safely reach surfaces up to 20 feet high.

Challenges: This project required extensive coordination with multiple parties. Flooring installation was happening simultaneously, so the team worked closely with installers to ensure painting was completed before new flooring and baseboards were installed. Additionally, a moving company was involved in relocating shelves and books in phases, which limited accessible workspace and slowed progress. Because the movers were only available on certain days, the crew adjusted their schedule to focus on areas they could access. As an active public library, the building could not fully close, so sections had to be carefully contained while work continued. The team worked long days, 10.5 hours with a crew of 3–4 painters to stay on track and meet the two-week deadline.

Result: Completed over the course of 10 days, the project was successfully delivered on schedule despite logistical challenges. The Hollis Social Library now features a refreshed, polished interior that complements its historic charm while remaining fully functional for the community.
