A Two-Headed Refresh Project
In 2021, CertaPro Painters of Mystic-Glastonbury was asked to perform a refresh at the Stonington Institute in both Groton and North Stonington, CT. We painted the lobby and conference areas as well as the infirmary and all residential dormitories at both locations.
The Stonington Institute is a behavior healthcare facility that provides continuous care to its patients. Coordination between CertaPro and the Stonington Institute was needed to be sure that the privacy of their patients was protected, as well as the continuation of other day to day activities including medical care, food service, and patient recreation.
The Many Facets of a Commercial Project
Our work on these two buildings involved a couple different elements that all came together after about 2 weeks. Before any painting could begin, our team had to cut out damaged parts of sheetrock in the walls of the buildings. Once removed, new sheetrock had to be fitted to the hole created by the damaged sheetrock. Alternatively, tape was used to repair smaller cracks. These repairs took place across the dormitories, kitchen facilities, offices, meeting rooms, and medical examination rooms.
Once the repairs were made, our team was able to begin painting. The customer was extremely satisfied with our work across both buildings, and our team was able to get even more experience in painting unique medical facilities.
