Mystic Museum of Art
Commercial Painting by CertaPro Painters of Mystic-Glastonbury
Mystic Museum of Art in Mystic, CT
CertaPro Painters of Mystic-Glastonbury painted the exterior of the Mystic Museum of Art. It is located in downtown Mystic, CT a historic seaside zip code-shared by the towns of Stonington and Groton, CT. The Museum is old and needed a fresh coat of paint. The building itself has 7,000 feet of siding, 1,200 feet of trim, 47 windows, 14 doors & frames, and many nooks and crannies. Built next to the Mystic River and sharing a parking lot with a condo complex and many restaurants, the Museum is a staple to the area.

BEFORE PHOTOS
The Museum was showing its age with mildew, rotted wood on some of the trim, peeling paint, and faded paint. We washed the mildew and algae off the building, performed the needed carpentry repairs, and prepared the building by scraping, lightly sanding, and spot priming bare wood. We performed the job in a lead-safe manner. We then applied one coat of Benjamin Moore Linen White Paint.
THE FINAL RESULT
The Museum has been putting off the painting for a while but set aside this money for 2020. Although two coats would be a good call, they went with one coat due to budgetary restrictions. The one coat job came out nicely and now they do not have to worry about painting for a while. All entry doors were not done by CertaPro or just not done. The on-site facility manager painted the main front door himself blue.
