BYK Warehouse
Commercial Painting by CertaPro Painters of Mystic-Glastonbury
BYK Warehouse in Wallingford, CT
We cleaned and painted the interior of a BYK warehouse in it’s entirety. It is a 48,000 Square Foot warehouse with 30′ high ceilings in Old Wallingford, CT. We cleaned and applied paint to drywall on the ceiling, decking and walls for the entire warehouse . With two coats of paint throughout, we used over 900 gallons in total for this project.
About the Project:
Condition of Facility:
The warehouse was in active use and had to be completed in 5 phases, we had to constantly avoid barrels containing chemicals and other miscellaneous items. One of the challenges faced was a restricted office space which we couldn’t stand on, resulting in the need for a 120′ aerial lift which allowed us access to those hard to reach spaces.
CertaPro Painters of Mystic-Glastonbury utilized special equipment for this unique project. With access to the warehouse through a loading dock, we were able to use a 65′ articulating boom lift and a 26′ scissor lift to get the job done.
Project Involvement:
Active use warehouse repainting. Use of special equipment to navigate over immovable objects.
Special Challenges:
- During preparations, we noticed the warehouse’s drywall had accumulated dirt. After a thorough cleaning, we applied two fresh coats of paint for a revitalized and protective finish.
- This was a significant project, rejuvenating an expansive 48,000 square feet area with towering 30-foot ceilings, requiring meticulous cleaning and repainting. Using specialized equipment and expertise to get the job done.
- Being that the warehouse was still in use for the projects duration, we were required to assist in moving barrels of chemicals and various materials often weighing well over 50 pounds.
- The project was completed in five phases
- We used over 900 gallons of paint
Project Timeline:
This multi-phase project took 5 weeks to complete.
