In Loving Memory of Kevin Foley

Posted on April 11, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved owner, colleague, and friend, Kevin Foley. Kevin passed away on Tuesday, February 11th, 2025, at the age of 62 after a courageous six-month battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family at the Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, NJ.

Kevin’s impact on our team and the community we serve was immeasurable. A Bronx native, Kevin moved to Dumont, NJ as a child and went on to attend St. Mary’s Grammar School, Dumont High School, and later Seton Hall University—where he remained a proud and passionate Pirate basketball fan for life. He earned his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University and carried his drive and entrepreneurial spirit throughout his career.

After holding sales roles with companies such as Sunkist Growers and ADT Security, Kevin co-founded a commercial equipment leasing company and eventually found his calling in small business ownership. For more than 20 years, he successfully led CertaPro Painters® of Mountainside, earning the respect and loyalty of countless residential and commercial clients throughout New Jersey. His leadership, commitment to excellence, and warm approach helped build a reputation for quality service and genuine care that continues to define our team today.

Kevin’s contributions extended far beyond the business. He was deeply involved in the Mountainside community where he and his wife Patrice raised their two children, Chris and Alex. Whether he was coaching Mountainside Recreation Basketball or helping out with coaching Alex’s travel softball teams, Kevin was known for his patient, positive, and enthusiastic approach—traits that endeared him to kids, parents, and fellow coaches alike.

Kevin had an undeniable zest for life. He was the last to leave a party, the first to dance when the music started, and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He loved golf, cycling, traveling with Patrice, and spending time by the ocean—as long as he had his umbrella and his big hat. A master of travel points and cruise planning, Kevin and Patrice explored destinations near and far, creating lasting memories together along the way.

He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, leadership, laughter, and love. Kevin is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patrice; children Chris and Alex; mother Josephine Foley; mother-in-law Bernice Rohrs, brother John Foley and wife Tracey, and nieces Caitlin, Megan and Kara, sisters-in-law Michele Rohrs, Donna Rohrs and wife Sue. His father, Jack Foley, passed away shortly after Kevin; may they both rest in eternal peace.

Kevin’s vision, energy, and heart will remain a guiding force in all we do. We are grateful to have known him and will carry his spirit forward in our work and in our lives.
