Commercial Project Highlight
Alina Lodge Drug Rehabilitation
In this case study, we recap a commercial painting project that took place in early August 2021 and ended in mid-September 2021 for the Alina Lodge campus located in Hardwick Township, NJ. We detail the steps from this exterior painting project.
Describe the condition of the facility/surfaces at the time work began.
Alina Lodge is a drug rehabilitation company. Their seven-building campus is located in Hardwick Township, NJ. Prior to painting, the seven buildings were fading, peeling, rotting, and deteriorating in several areas.
What did the project involve?
The project included pressure washing all surfaces, scraping loose and peeling paint, priming bare wood areas, caulking openings, and applying two coats of paint to all surfaces. This project also included extensive carpentry on most of the buildings. The Family Hall building required the removal and replacement of several wooden sections of two-story decorative columns.
How long did the project take, start to finish?
The project took 6 weeks to complete, however, there were several rain dates during the time of the project.
Were there any special challenges involved?
The main challenge was the Family Hall. This required the team to install scaffolding around the columns to complete the wood at the main entrance of the building. There were also beehives on some of the buildings that made the painting a bit more challenging.
Did the project require any special equipment or techniques?
Scaffolding and master carpentry skills.
