Commercial Project Highlight
Lake Valhalla Country Club
In this case study, we recap a commercial painting project that took place in January 2022. The Lake Valhalla Club is a private membership County Club located in Montville, NJ. We detail the steps from this interior painting project.
Describe the condition of the facility/surfaces at the time work began.
The Lake Valhalla Club suffered from nail pops, peeling, and stress cracks in several areas of the ceiling. The vents were also very dirty and black (previously white).
What did the project involve?
We had to prepare and paint all the main-room ceilings at Lake Valhalla. The painting process included scraping loose and peeling paint, priming bare wood areas, repairing nail pops, caulking stress cracks, and applying two coats of paint to all surfaces. Additionally, the team also had to spray vents using a Direct Metal product. This process included removing the vents, setting up a spraying station, and reinstalling the vents.
How long did the project take, from start to finish?
The project took place in mid-January 2022 and took 6 days to complete.
Were there any special challenges involved?
The two-story tall ballroom was where the majority of the work took place. The team had to set up rolling scaffolding in order to reach the two-story tall ceilings.
Did the project require any special equipment or techniques?
Scaffolding.
